Sansum Narrows

Sansum Narrows separates Vancouver and Salt Spring Islands and leads from the west end of Satellite Channel to the south end of Stewart Channel. It is 0.48 km (0.3 miles) wide at its narrowest part. The area offers excellent fishing, kayaking, boating and a great amount of marine life.

There are three commercial marinas and a public dock, as well as the Maple Bay Yacht Club and the Maple Bay Rowing Club.

Maple Bay Marina is replacing many older boat sheds with new styles and fire resistant yacht enclosures, creating one the safest and most environmentally responsible marinas in British Columbia.
