History : | Two centuries ago explorer George Vancouver observed Savary, with its white-sand beaches, as having “beauty such as we have seldom enjoyed.” Vancouver had 2 commanders, Galiano and Valdes to dinner when passing by this island in June of 1792. He named it Savary’s Island but he does not tell us who Savary was, and nobody has been able to identify him. | ||
