Description: |
This secluded Island is located on the spectacular Sunshine Coast famous for its pristine waters, stunning coastal scenery and abundant wildlife. Caldwell Island The location of this private Island is paramount. Within 40 minutes you can be at every major service. You have all these major amenities and still you are in what I believe is a different world from one we typically are accustomed too. Agamemnon Channel is very well protected from the prevailing winds. Accessing the Island at any time is very safe. You do not need to be an experienced mariner to enjoy Caldwell Island. There are a few Mainland marinas to choose from. The nearest is approximately 5 minutes away in Agamemnon Channel. The Island has fantastic sun exposure. The foreshore area is a mix of gravel beach’s to low lying solid granite. Overall the Island is very gentle. I approximate the highest point above sea level to be 40 feet. Licenses A License of Occupation is in place covering the foreshore area where the dock is situated. Dock The Docks location can’t be better. It is extremely protected and is good deep water in all tides. The dock is capable of handling a couple large yachts. A 40 foot aluminium ramp 5 feet wide connects the dock to a cedar constructed pier platform and the Island. Boardwalk Main Lodge Guest House 1 Teach generations to come all about the wild pacific as they gain experience in this protected bay to one day become an experienced mariner. The possibilities are endless with owning your own private Island. Guest House 2 Boat House Generator Shed The source of all the power for the Island and the improvements is a 12KW Onan Diesel generator which was installed in 2006. There is only about 150 hours on the diesel generator. As a back up there is a smaller Honda generator. This building has additional storage. When the generator is running it is very quiet and you can’t even hear it unless you are standing beside it. Improvements |

Area Data: |
This is a popular destination for kayak tours, fishing and boating. Caldwell Island is a known favourite for dive tours. Agamemnon Channel is a sheltered passage that connects Jervis Inlet to the Straight of Georgia. Nelson Island Jervis Inlet Sechelt The Sechelt area climate is characterized by mild, moist winters and warm dry summers. Temperatures on the Coast range from freezing in winter to highs of 30C (90F) in summer. The annual rainfall is approximately 100cm (40in.) The Sunshine Coast is sheltered from the open Pacific, and the milder weather patterns result in very light snowfalls in the region. The Sunshine Coast is split into two portions on either side of Jervis Inlet. Roughly speaking, the southern half between the ferry slips at Langdale and Earls Cove occupies the Sechelt Peninsula, while the northern half between the ferry slip at Saltery Bay and Lund sits on the Malaspina Peninsula. Powell River Miles of hiking trails lead to beautiful lookouts, waterfalls, or peaceful lakes which can be viewed along the 180 km Sunshine Coast Trail and numerous recreational areas can be reached by logging roads, owned by the logging companies. Boating and sports fishing are ardently pursued as all season sports. Marinas and Government docks are available to residents and visitors. Powell River is known as the “HOT SPOT” for winter diving in North America. The “Mermaid” at Mermaid Cove in Saltery Bay Provincial Park is an extra special attraction. The area also has some of the largest Wolf eel and Octopus in the world. Canoeing may also be enjoyed on the quiet lakes of Powell River or you can take in the Powell Forest Canoe Route Circuit. Ocean canoeing and kayaking is very popular in Jervis Inlet, the Copeland Islands Marine Park, the Malaspina Inlet with Okeover Arm, and Desolation Sound. For all the nature lovers and sightseers, Powell River has many parks, viewpoints and beaches to explore, and the hiking club will help you take advantage of the many beautiful trails. Bird watching is also unprecedented. |

Recreation: |
The area is a mecca for marine recreational activity, including boating, fishing, kayaking, scuba diving, site seeing, and swimming in an area characterised as one of BC’s popular outdoor playgrounds. Nelson Island is centered between some of BC’s best boating territories, Jervis Inlet and Desolation Sound Marine Park. There are endless amounts of shoreline to explore, but one does not have to venture any further than your own dock to catch your daily limit in prawns, crabs, oysters and clams. |
