The property is located approximately 7 km off Hwy 101 on the Sunshine Coast near the head of Okeover Inlet which is close to Lund and Desolation Sound Marine Park.

This is a 0.70 acre oceanfront Crown lease property with 100 feet of low bank oceanfront.

In 2006 this spectacular custom built home was completed for the current owner. The home must be seen to be appreciated. It was constructed by a local master craftsman who specializes in building wooden kayaks. Everything that is built from wood was done by hand. The post and beam construction, the windows, the doors, the kitchen, the mouldings, the flooring and I am sure there is more that I am missing but it is very impressive to see the craftsmanship from local product.

The home, approximately 20x20 or 800 square feet on the main floor, has a full unfinished concrete basement. The current owner uses the space to store her Kayaks but with finishing would be a great space with lots of natural light.

The main floor is a great space. Over the kitchen and dinning area / half of the main floor, the ceiling is open and vaulted to the roof line. Likely a 20-foot ceiling. The remainder is comprised of the sitting/living area, bedroom and bathroom. The view from the living space is ocean on the front and lush gardens of natural foliage and a pond to the rear.

There is an open loft area. It is another bedroom which I would use as the master bedroom and a home office area.

The entire setting is quite romantic. A gingerbread cottage in the woods. Feasting on oysters hand picked from right in front of your house. Sitting beside a crackling fire enjoying your favourite glass of wine.

Okeover Inlet is the Oyster Capital of Canada. I call it the grocery store. Oysters, clams, mussels readily available on the beach. Prawns, crab and a variety of fish offshore. All you need is some butter, garlic and white wine.

The area is not only popular because of the abundant supply of edible delights. The sheltered waters are great for kayaking, sightseeing and all other experiences associated with living in a coastal environment. The towering coastal rainforest, the ocean and wildlife is a spectacle every minute of the day.

Desolation Sound Provincial Marine Park (8,256 Hectares) is British Columbia’s largest marine park. Unwin Lake; a 173-hectare body of fresh water is the parks largest. Set back to the North and East, Coast Mountains soar to more than 2,400 meters. The warm waters surrounding the area teem with sea life. Ideal for swimming, scuba diving and feasting on your catch of the day, salmon, cod, prawns, crab, clams and oysters. Plenty other tasty morsels lie beneath on the oceans floor; to acquire them you must put on your scuba gear and get a little wet. Or you could take a short drive by boat or car to the Laughing Oyster Restaurant at the head of Okeover Inlet.

Lund named after a city in Sweden was established in 1899 when the Thulin Brothers started to build the hotel, which is still in use today. Recently the hotel has changed ownership and has recently seen a major renovation. For most of the early years Lund served as a port for fisherman. Today Lund thrives on its attraction from tourists seeking the neighboring Gulf Islands and marine parks.

Kayaking, boating, sightseeing, picking oysters and clams, fishing for prawn, crab, salmon and cod.
